Welcome
First...welcome to my site! Feel free to peruse the pages, and if you have any questions, please send me a tweet or email. I respond to every one! I've been conducting ELA trainings for many years, both locally and nationally, and I leave every session learning a new trick or idea from those who attend. Like many teachers, my most successful lessons and activities were inspired by other great teachers, so I thought I'd share my tried-and-true strategies to help others create successful extensions of their own for their students. I still have much content to add, so please visit again!
I've taught English for 17 years, grades 6-12, in both public and private schools. I was Nationally Board Certified in 2000 and renewed in 2010. I'm also a proud Writing Project member and have served as Jacksonville State University's Writing Project Co-Director for many years. Our Teacher Summer Institutes are awesome (quick plug)!
I'm currently a curriculum director for my school system, a job a love, but nothing compares to being in my classroom, surrounded by my students. I miss it every single day.
